PROJECT SPOTLIGHT

Danger came smiling

We were thrilled to be invited to work with the Exhibition and Interpretation Team at the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh on their latest install – the Linder: Danger Came Smiling exhibition, in collaboration with Mackinnon Slater

We were asked to manufacture and install this temporary installation highlighting the work of Linder Stirling. You will be able to experience the display for yourself until October this year.

This is the artist’s first retrospective in Scotland and will showcase 50 years of thought provoking and trailblazing artwork using a variety of shapes, textures and materials. This is a bright and colourful exhibition with lots of eye-catching details.

We created a mini outdoor exhibition that leads customers through the Smile Garden to the main display. It carries many different and unique elements from her artwork out into the great outdoors within the garden. The challenge with this project was that we had to ensure that everything we manufactured could withstand the ever changing environment that comes with working outdoors amongst plants and wildlife. It was also extremely important to ensure that everything we installed was done so safely and we were on hand for any maintenance work required.

We worked with a variety of materials including coloured acrylic, natural time and Richlite surfaces to bring the artist’s work to life and hope you enjoy the display.
