Lucidblack Ltd delivered a high-profile, immersive exhibition fit-out celebrating the Eurovision Song Contest, acting as both Main Contractor and Principal Contractor under CDM 2015 at The Science and Media Museum in Bradford. The project required the coordination of multiple specialist contractors, a fixed programme, and a demanding installation schedule — all delivered within strict budget parameters.

Working closely with the design team, we translated the original scenographic concepts into practical, buildable solutions while carefully protecting the creative intent of the exhibition. Our in-house workshop capability enabled the manufacture of bespoke setworks and exhibition elements with consistent quality and precision across the entire build.

A key aspect of the project was the successful management and sequencing of multiple workstreams, including AV integration, graphics, interactive installations, object placement, and specialist supplier coordination. Through structured programme management, regular coordination meetings, and proactive communication, we enabled parallel installation activities to progress efficiently without disruption or conflict on site.

The project demanded a flexible and solutions-focused approach throughout delivery. Following programme changes during the build phase, our team rapidly re-sequenced works, increased off-site pre-assembly, and refined installation workflows to maintain programme certainty while preserving quality and safety standards.

The completed exhibition delivered an engaging and immersive visitor experience, combining bespoke fabrication, technical coordination, and precise delivery management within a complex live project environment.
